David and Donna Reyckert established Double D Statuary, Inc. in 1982. David had just finished his military career and Donna had long grown tired of Navy separations and moves. Settling in South Texas wasn't hard, the "miles and miles" of Texas are filled with wondrous rivers, beautiful beaches and friendly folk. Having grown to 55 employees during the peak seasons, Double D Statuary, Inc. is Texas's Largest Manufacturing Statuary and produces some of the world's largest ornamental statues, the 13,000-pound Hippo and Rhino being prime examples. Double D has been featured on the syndicated TV program "Texas Country Reporter", the Texas Highways (Feb. 97 Magazine), Listed in Texas's top 50 places to visit, and hosted the 1995 Ornamental Concrete Producers Association.
